Thousand-Miler: Adventures Hiking the Ice Age Trail

Author and hiker Melanie Radzicki McManus will share her experience hiking the 1,200-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

She will discuss her record-setting trek along the trail, which winds throughout Wisconsin, and also speak about the history of the National Scenic Trail system and how the Ice Age Trail came into being.

Melanie is a freelance writer specializing in hiking, backpacking, and active travel. She has won numerous awards for her writing, most notably the prestigious Lowell Thomas Gold and Grand Awards for her travel journalism.

Her book Thousand-Miler: Adventures Hiking the Ice Age Trail is a memoir about her record-setting through hike of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Melanie, aka Snowshoe on the trail, is in the midst of a quest to hike all 11 National Scenic Trails.
