Monarch Community Science Project

Monday, July 28, 2025
10:30 am - 11:30 am
Teen Room

Monarch butterflies play an important role as pollinators, and their populations are in trouble. Learn about them and teach others, too.

We will plant milkweed (which provides food and habitat for them), observe monarch eggs and caterpillars, and talk with library patrons about the role monarch butterflies play in the environment. We will submit our data to the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project.

All participants receive service hours as part of Teen Summer Service. Fill out this contact form to be added to our list of interested teen volunteers and be one of the first to know about volunteer opportunities.

Email the teen team if you have any questions. For grades 6-12.

Registration begins June 1.
